The software:
Custom tailored application software for long-term livestock inventory (either cattle or pigs). If you keep livestock on pasture, in feedlots or grow-yards, we have the system for you. Detailed tracking of original purchase price and all expenses to maintain inventory. Gain or loss projection and recording. Pro-rated calculations. Detailed inventory reporting and analysis. All transactions are interfaced to the accounting functions of GL, AR and AP.

The hardware:
A state-of-the-art, brand-name, Business System Server with manufacturers on-site warranty hosts the powerful and proven SCO-UNIX operating system. The peripheral equipment, including printers, terminals, modems and power-conditioners has been selected for price/performance ratio in the typical environment.

Before purchasing the FeederMaster software program in 1996 our long term feeder inventory records were maintained manually and were never current. With FeederMaster the feeder inventory record, as well as the general ledger accounting records, are updated at the same time as the cheque is printed or the deposit is made. Whether it’s a feeder purchase, sale or expense entry, now we know right away where every penny has gone! The feeder projection option is great for break-even calculations for different cost input scenarios for each lot. The amount of detail possible for each feeder lot is almost endless - multiple owners aren’t a problem.

We particularly liked the one-stop shopping at Genesys for all our hardware and software needs. Over the years we have found the Genesys Support Team to be very professional, always available and ready to help - and just a phone call away! The support by the Genesys Team and especially their immediate help with pressing problems has been invaluable to us. We’re never left on our own with those pesky computer problems that can crop up in any system!

We were using a popular off-the-shelf accounting software program but we weren’t happy with our records nor did we have any inventory control or support. We bundled FeederMaster with DealerMaster giving our business a customized system for all our accounting and cattle inventory needs. We have had such success with the General Computers software that our Accountant has commented more than once that we have the “Cadillac of Systems” and our Banker tells us we have the best information management system he’s seen!
